“Let the sea and what fills it resound, the world and those who dwell in it; let the rivers clap their hands, the mountains shout with them for joy before the Lord.” (Psalm 98: 7-8)
How far we stray from the joy of simply being alive! Heaven and nature sing in continual praise. Why don’t we? Beneath our false lights, we scowl and plan. Our brief days are wasted on fear, anger, greed, and distractions. Only children and saints among us remain in the truth and revel there with the fields and the sun.
“Sing a new song to the Lord.” (Psalm 98:1)
Today and every day, let me abandon the fields of desolation and despair to walk among the fields of new life. Let every breath be a cause for celebration. Let me see with younger eyes and love without restraint. Let my entire self and my entire life become a new song of gratitude and praise.
