Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw…” (See Luke 9: 28-36)

The transfiguration describes a numinous encounter with God that changes everything. The inner dimension of outer events is revealed,…then comes the descent back to ordinary life. Every peak experience is followed by a return to ordinary life, but with a difference. If the experience takes root, outer life changes from within.

Before enlightenment, life is ordinary. At the time of enlightenment, life is extraordinary. After enlightenment, life is ordinary. First the ecstasy, then the laundry,…but everything is new.
