Yearning

Children can teach us who we are and who we are not if we are truly present and listen deeply.

There is no other love like the love I have for my child. It is instinctual and profound. Words cannot convey it. It is deeper than life itself. It deepens with years. Thank God life is not about me anymore.

Life before this love had little connection to life after this love, except perhaps a yearning. The old yearning was for what was missing, although I had little idea what that was. The new yearning is for what I have. I can never be grateful enough for this.
